Refund Policy

This Refunds & Cancellations Policy describes how cancellations, refunds, and payment-related issues are handled on taskpiece. By accessing or using the taskpiece platform (“Platform”), you agree to the terms outlined in this policy. This policy applies to all users, including Clients and Freelancers.

Overview

taskpiece is an online marketplace that connects Clients with independent Freelancers for completing tasks and projects. taskpiece does not directly provide services and is not a party to agreements between Clients and Freelancers. However, this policy is designed to promote transparency, fairness, and trust in financial transactions conducted through the Platform.

Client-Initiated Cancellations

Clients may cancel a task before the Freelancer has started working on it. In such cases, any unused funds may be eligible for a refund, subject to taskpiece’s service fees. Platform fees are generally non-refundable unless explicitly stated otherwise.

If a Client cancels a task after the Freelancer has begun work, refunds are not guaranteed. Refund eligibility will depend on the amount of work completed, the task agreement, and any communication between the parties.

 

 

Freelancer-Initiated Cancellations

Freelancers may cancel a task if they are unable to continue due to valid reasons. Freelancers are expected to inform the Client promptly. In such situations, any funds held for unfinished work may be returned to the Client.

Repeated cancellations by a Freelancer may negatively impact their account standing, visibility, or ability to accept future tasks. taskpiece reserves the right to review such behavior and take appropriate action.

Refund Eligibility

Refunds may be considered when a task is canceled before work begins, when the Freelancer fails to deliver work within the agreed timeframe without reasonable explanation, or when the delivered work clearly does not meet the agreed task requirements.

Refunds will not be issued for dissatisfaction based on personal preferences that were not included in the original task scope, changes of mind after work completion, or delays caused by the Client’s failure to provide required information, approvals, or feedback.

Dispute Resolution

Clients and Freelancers are encouraged to resolve issues through direct communication. If no resolution is reached, either party may raise a dispute through the taskpiece Platform.

taskpiece may review task descriptions, messages, submitted work, and timelines to assist in dispute resolution. Any decision made by taskpiece regarding refunds or cancellations will be final and binding.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within 5 to 10 business days, depending on the payment method and financial institution involved. taskpiece is not responsible for delays caused by banks or third-party payment providers.

Refunds will be issued only to the original payment method used during the transaction.

Fraud, Abuse, and Misuse

taskpiece reserves the right to deny refunds or cancellations in cases of suspected fraud, abuse, manipulation, or violation of platform policies. Accounts found misusing the refund or dispute system may be suspended or permanently terminated.

Account Suspension or Termination

If an account is suspended or terminated due to policy violations, any pending refunds will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. taskpiece is not obligated to issue refunds for work that has already been completed or partially completed.

Policy Updates

taskpiece may update this Refunds & Cancellations Policy at any time. Changes will become effective immediately upon posting on the Platform. Continued use of taskpiece indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
